we celebrate your birthday.

I bring you a cake that you won’t eat cause you don’t like sweet

yet you must have cake on your birthday.

And two cans of beer that we won’t drink either

cause they only taste good on TV.

We end up drink instant wedang jahe with ice that you make.

And we spend the night talking about our past that we’d like to change.

But mostly about today in another alternate universe.

Do we celebrate your birthday together there?

Are we happy there?

Or just like in this universe,

where we’re not meant for each other,

and spend this day alone by writing this story about us in alternate universe?
